Delta Taskforce Issues Ultimatum To Traders To Vacate High Tension Wire Area.
The leadership of the Delta State Taskforce on Environment has issued a notice of ultimatum to traders displaying their goods under high tension in Abraka market to desist, or else face sanctions.
This notice was given today when the Ethiope, Ukwuani, Okpe Zone of the Delta State Taskforce under the Chairmanship of Godspower Omafuvwe Asiuwhu embarked on a sensitization campaign in the Abraka market axis and its environs.
The team led by the Ethiope East Coordinator, Chief Eta Kingsley and Mr Emudainohwo Abe, issued a stern ultimatum to Abraka market women, “vacate the front of the Main Market and cease trading under high tension wires within seven days”.
The move comes as a proactive measure to ensure the safety and well-being of residents, as trading in the hazardous areas poses significant risks. The taskforce emphasized the importance of compliance with the ultimatum to avoid potential accidents and harm, urged the traders to heed to the warning and cooperate with the authorities to facilitate a smooth transition.
Additionally, the taskforce plan to provide support and assistance to the affected market women to ensure minimal disruption to their businesses during the relocation process.
